Not sure what the author's background is on this subject matter, but whatever it is, he seems to leave no stone unturned. It's funny, just last week, I met with my financial advisor and the subject turned from making the money now to what happens to it when I am dead. That prompted other seemingly unrelated questions to which I had absolutely no answer. But they weren't unrelated at all. It got me to thinking.Last night I purchased this book based on the other reviewer's comments. I didn't even know that such a book would exist. Leave it to AMAZON to have something on this subject.
Talk about the definitive "how-to" get your act together while you are alive and well enough to do it. We plan everything else in our lives, don't we? Why not plan how it will all shake down when we drop dead and leave those behind who are already freaking out having to make decisions we should have made ourselves when we were able to. It speaks to things you would never even think of. Heck, if you don't do it for your own planning, the helpful tips surely will come in handy when we are dealing with others (our parents, in particular) estates when we are faced with that daunting job after they are gone. Who would have ever known how many death certificates we need to order? Surely not I. And knowing my mother and Dad, neither one will be in any frame of mind to deal with any of this once the other is gone. The task will fall on my sisters and/or me.
This book is really helpful and sort of fun. I know that sounds strange given the topic, but it is written in such a way that it feels like an old friend, who is an expert on the subject, is telling you how to prepare for it all.

Prepare to Die! And Other Stuff No One Ever Told You edition by Peter Callan Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews
Fabulous. Wonderful. Just what I needed. Thank you so much for making it available. Every household needs a copy.
Super helpful on so many levels! Mr.Callan has included forms to assist in the
process of getting your end-of-life details together. This workbook was laid out in a clear, easily understood manner
in which everything is in one resource to move you through the process. An up beat read and excellent information
that can save you and your loved ones from creating disastrous mistakes financially and emotionally!
There many things we tend to put off in life, the most notable being death. This book helps one to start thinking about the practical matters surrounding death, leaving the more esoteric matters to late nights with strong tea. These practical matters are particularly important if you have assets that you want to end up in the right hands, debt that you don't want to pass on to family members, or children who deserve safety and care even if you should pass. That we all should take this much responsibility in life, surrounding our own deaths.
This guide is helpful to motivate and direct us to the necessity of planning for the day we are no longer here in physical form. AND it also helps with things we may not have thought about, like setting up care and financial support for our pets. Enough said. Great resource. Thanks Peter!
I love this book. Mr. Callan presents extremely important (nay, CRUCIAL) practical information here about stuff no one wants to think about but everyone needs to. And he does it in a way that's engaging, non-threatening, and yes, even fun to read. Having a will, advanced directives and all that kind of thing really is something every adult should have, no matter how young, and Peter walks the reader through getting started with these things step by step. I rarely write reviews, but this is a book I'd buy for everyone I know if I could.
This book is a "lifesaver," even as it helps us prepare for death. If you've been putting off taking care of end-of-life business, this book will guide you step by step, supporting you in coming to grips with the basics, so that you can live in peace and when your time has come to leave this world your loved ones can grieve your loss and celebrate your life without being overwhelmed by details. A vital resource.
I must say that this is probably one of the most insightful and comprehensive approaches to a rather uncomfortable, but yet all too important subject that I've seen in quite some time. I'm very impressed with the way the information is discussed and presented - and it just made traversing the maze so much easier for me, epecially while my mind is clear, and neither I, nor my family is in the "distraught" or "React" mode. After reading through, it's clear that "ignorance" is NOT bliss.. and in some cases ignorance could very well be devastation. An easy, but powerful read.
